The Arc of Madison Cortland Transportation Program transports passengers from 31 various townships in Madison County.
The Arc of Madison Cortland provides both fixed route and demand-response service to passengers attending programs operated by The Arc of Madison Cortland.
WHEN WILL THE BUS ARRIVE?
The bus will pick you up and drop you off at the time that has been arranged for you. We transport over 200 passengers each day, and the numbers keep growing. Since attendance and weather change every day, the time may vary a bit.
It is our goal to have the bus arrive within 5 minutes of the time that has been arranged for you. We need your cooperation to achieve this goal. When the bus arrives, please be ready. If there is no response from the house within 5 minutes, the driver will call our main office and move on to the next stop. We will contact you if your schedule changes by more than 10 minutes.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
The driver will be glad to assist you on or off the bus but is not authorized or responsible to escort you to or from your door except during extenuating circumstances.
For the safety and well being of all passengers, you are expected to stay in your seat while the bus is in motion.
By New York State Law, the driver is not allowed to leave the bus unattended with passengers on board, except in an emergency. And, in that case he/she must turn off the engine and take the keys with them.
WHAT IF I NEED HELP?
If you ever need assistance during the trip, or getting on or off the bus, your driver will be glad to help you. All you have to do is ask. Also, our vehicles are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs.
