Alternatives Clinical Services

The Arc of Madison Cortland Article 16 Clinic provides clinical supports for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities of all ages who attend a certified day program, live in a certified residence, live at home, or are independent in the community. Services we are able to offer include:

  • Dietetics/Nutrition - counseling to assist with optimal diet for weight management, diabetes management, and maintaining or increasing health
  • Nursing Services - counseling to assist with management and understanding of medical diagnoses as well as monitoring of vital signs and recommendations to improve medication compliance
  • Occupational Therapy - therapy geared towards maintaining and increasing daily living skills and sensory therapy
  • Podiatry - routine podiatric care including monitoring of orthotics
  • Psychiatric Services - medication management
  • Behavioral Counseling - counseling to assist individuals in developing positive and effective coping strategies for behavioral concerns
  • Physical Therapy - therapy geared toward maintaining and increasing mobility and musculature
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling - counseling in the development of vocational skills to assist with being successful in any type of vocational setting
  • Social Work - counseling to assist with processing psychosocial stressors such as grief and relationships
  • Speech Pathology - therapy geared toward increasing and maintaining communication skills, verbal or non-verbal (manual sign, communication book, communication device, etc), monitoring and making altered consistency diet recommendations, as well as monitoring ongoing swallowing concerns
