Sujeet Desai
36-year-old Sujeet Desai is an accomplished musician born with Down syndrome. Sujeet plays seven instruments. Bb and Bass clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Violin, Trumpet, Piano & Drums. In June 2001 he graduated from high School with honors and in May 2003 from the Berkshire Hills Music Academy in Massachusetts after two-year residential Post-secondary study in Music and Human services. Sujeet travels worldwide to do inspirational solo music performances and self-advocacy workshops. 

He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, aired on the “the View”, “20/20”, “Oprah Winfrey”, WCNY public channels and many local TV news. He was honored by NDSS as National spokesperson for Down syndrome and was published in 40 magazines nationwide as THE TRAVELER to raise awareness of the Down syndrome campaign. 

Classified is the premier horn band of central NY, and was voted number one by the readers of the Utica Observer Dispatch in their Readers Choice Poll for two years in a row. Classified has shared the stage with several international artists including Maynard Ferguson, Benny Mardones, Rare Earth, Eddie Money, KC & the Sunshine Band, Jason Marsalis, Gap Mangione, The Pointer Sisters and Earth, Wind & Fire to name a few. The abilities of the members of Classified encompass all styles of music, which is why they are the most sought after black-tie affair act in the area and beyond.
