Last month, Governor Andrew Cuomo released his Executive Budget. The budget included cuts to support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). These cuts will total $335 million this year unless the legislature stands up for these individuals.
In conjunction with The Arc New York, we are advocating for the rejection of these cuts, as well other actions affecting people with disabilities, their families, and the essential workers who support them.
Elected officials must be part of the process and stand up for people with disabilities who may be unable to stand up for themselves. Without critical funding, the future of these individuals could be in jeopardy.
