Oneida, NY – Building Futures Foundation, which for more than three decades has served as the fundraising arm of The Arc of Madison Cortland, has a new name: Builders of The Arc Foundation.
Foundation President Brett Zielasko announced the new Foundation name today, emphasizing that the Builders of The Arc Foundation will continue with the mission and activities that The Arc and the Foundation have built for more than 20 years with the generous support of its many donors.
“The services offered by the Arc of Madison Cortland have never been more important and impactful to the individuals who receive them, and the role of the Foundation in helping to support those services has never been more crucial. As the Builders of the Arc Foundation, our goal is to more closely link our efforts to the agency we support and to continue to foster and grow the financial contributions we receive from our community and supporters as we have for decades.”
Funds raised by the Foundation enhances the quality of life for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Madison and Cortland counties, providing grants to programs that directly help people with disabilities at The Arc of Madison Cortland.
Perry Courto, Executive Director of The Arc of Madison Cortland, noted the importance of the Foundation and what it provides.
“The Arc of Madison Cortland is facing many challenges, from reductions in funding to difficulties in hiring Direct Support Professionals. I am proud of the Programs and Services that the Arc of Madison Cortland is currently able to provide. It is extremely important for The Builders of the Arc Foundation to provide support for programs that are unfunded or underfunded.”
Courto continued, noting the importance of the Foundation and the men and women that sit on the Board of Directors.
“The success of The Builders of the Arc Foundation is crucial to the continued growth of the Arc of Madison Cortland. I look forward to collaborating with the hard-working men and women of both Boards as we move into 2020 and beyond. Together, we can ensure our mission remains in perpetuity.”
